What is needed to play

·         Required Equipment:

o   RYBA will provide each player a game hat, game jersey, and green baseball socks as part of registration.

o   You will need to purchase GRAY baseball pants and a GREEN baseball belt.

o   Baseball Bat that is stamped “USA” or “BBCOR” ONLY. For younger players is it highly recommended to get “USA” baseball bats that are between a -10 and -12. This is referred to as a “drop”. A drop 10 or (-10), means that the bat weighs 10 ounces less than the length. In that example a 29-inch bat weighs 19 ounces.

o   Take note that only “USA” bats are allowed in the league and “USSSA” is NOT. They are not the same thing and “USSSA” bats are NOT allowed and will be a penalty if used in a game.

o   Baseball glove.

o   Batting Helmet – sharing is not recommended, and team ones are not provided.

o   Molded baseball spikes only for T-ball through Bronco (No Metal Cleats). T-ball is optional for spikes.

·         Optional but recommended equipment

o   Equipment bag- one that can be used for a few years.

o   Batting gloves- (optional for T-Ball)

o   Catcher’s gear will be provided by the league for the team, but if your player shows interest in becoming and continuing to be a catcher, you should consider purchasing personal gear and a catcher’s mitt. This is purely optional and not required.
